A Helper is a Wisdo member who has completed Wisdo’s Helper training program and earned a Helper Badge. This badge shows that they’ve learned how to offer thoughtful, respectful, and supportive peer support to others in the community.
Helpers are not therapists or medical professionals. Instead, they are people who have personal experience with similar life challenges and want to help others feel less alone by sharing understanding, encouragement, and practical insights.
Helpers are trained in important skills such as:
Active listening and supportive communication
Respecting boundaries and community guidelines
Recognizing when someone may need additional professional support
Because of this training, Helpers can offer personalized peer support, respond to members who are asking for encouragement, and help create a welcoming and supportive environment in the community.
In some cases, Helpers may also reach out through 1:1 messages to check in, offer encouragement, or share helpful resources based on shared experiences.
Their goal is simple: to help members feel heard, supported, and connected while navigating life’s challenges.
